Ghosts of the West: Tales and Legends from the Bonanza Trail is the latest entry in the Ghosts of the West documentary project.
Unlike the “Images of America” series or books centered strictly on history or travel itineraries, this new book relates stories (and facts) of discoveries, boom towns, bust times, and ghost towns of the Old West (with some extras about lost mines and modern-day stories). The text is accompanied by dozens of historical and contemporary images (including some side by sides) from California, Colorado, Arizona, Montana, Idaho, Oregon, and Nevada.
The book measures 6” x 9", and has full-color covers with 128 b/w pages. The softcover edition (pictured) retails for $19.95/$19.99 and releases on October 1. The case laminate (hard cover) edition retails for $29.99 and releases on June 28.
You can pre-order at Amazon or ask your local bookstore to order it for you through Ingram, or you can get one of the few remaining advance copies NOW by visiting the Concession Stand. (Signed and personalized editions are also available.) While you're there, consider picking up a copy of the Ghosts of the West original motion picture soundtrack album. Adrian Hernandez's brilliant score is the perfect musical accompaniment while reading the book.
