The Niwot Historical Society generally expects 80 to 100 attendees at their lectures. Last Wednesday every seat was filled; then all the spare chairs brought out were filled; then the entire back wall was lined with standees; and then the standees began lining the side walls until the front wall had been reached. The last to arrive stood outside the entrance and looked in through the doorway. The most conservative estimate was 175; the newspaper came up with a somewhat different number. At the time the photo was taken, Ethan was preparing a timer on his phone to maintain the lecture's pacing once it began.
